Lane, Ralph -
Ralph Lane (1530 - 1603) was an English explorer of the Elizabethan era.
Lane was born in Lympstone, Devon, England. His father was Sir Ralph of Orlingbury, and his mother, Maud, was a cousin of Catherine Parr, the last queen consort of Henry VIII.

Lewis, Meriwether -was an American explorer, soldier, and public administrator, best known for his role as the leader of the Lewis and Clark Expedition also known as the Corps of Discovery, with William Clark, whose mission was to explore the territory of the Louisiana Purchase. Lewis & Clark Corps of Discovery -(1804-1806), headed by Meriwether Lewis and William Clark, was the first American overland expedition to the Pacific coast and back.
